Frederick

Just when things start getting more interesting,  there won't be another episode until March.  After this episode, I like Abigail a lot more.  It turns out she isn't the spoiled rich girl I once thought, but rather someone who's lost her true love.  I am pleased that she got her happiness and revived Frederick.  I have to say, though, I don't think Anastasia Griffith is the best actress for this role.  I don't think she's a very good actress and sometimes I wonder if her mind is elsewhere, or if she's on some sort of medication.  For the most part, she shows absolutely no emotion or feeling or perhaps she's just had a little too much Botox.

Did you notice Kathryn ran into Frederick/gym teacher in the school when she went to confront Mary Margaret?  I thought he looked like a student (he looks very young), but the way she bumped into him, I was sure he would be important to the show at some point.

The official OUAT chat posed the question:  "What happened to Kathryn?"
Of course she didn't leave Storybrooke, since no one can leave, but who took her?  I'd bet that Regina had something to do with her disappearance.  Was Kathryn taken to the hospital basement where Belle is being kept?  I believe she may be, or the writers want us to believe she is, and showing us Belle in captivity was intended to lead us in that direction.  My question is, why did Frederick just happen to be on the road at that time of day?  If people can't leave, where was he going?  Or did someone send him down that road?  Someone like Regina?

So the dozens of keys Regina keeps go to people's houses?  That's frightening.  What has she taken or placed inside the resident's homes?

The Stranger has officially been identified as August W. Booth (as I previously posted), and he is indeed the writer of the book.  I am so curious to learn what he changed in the book.  Did he repair the damaged pages that were removed so Regina wouldn't see them?  Did he add new stories?  Or did he alter some of the stories that we've already seen?  I think that is very likely.  And I can't help but wonder if the writers of the show brought him in to change the storyline.  Did they not like the path of a story, or did audience reaction cause them to rethink a storyline?  It will be interesting to find out.  I find him intriguing, very pleasing to watch, and I wonder if he is a good guy or a bad guy.

For the upcoming episode, "Dreamy," we find out that there may be several dwarfs we didn't know about.  Apparently, Grumpy used to be called Dreamy, and I am guessing he became Grumpy when he lost his love.  Some new Dwarfs:  Bossy, Watchy, and the return of Stealthy (before his demise).

And there is listed a Skinny Man and a Rotund Woman.  Is this Jack Sprat and his wife?

General Observations:

No doubt King Midas received his gift from Rumpelstiltskin.  But I wonder what King Midas gave to Rumpelstiltskin in return.

Is David/Charming a liar at heart?  I realize he was forced into the lie that he is the real prince, but David just can't seem to tell the truth and seems like, well, kind of a jerk.  He's strung along Mary Margaret and basically cheated on Kathryn.  Is Charming a bad guy?

In Rumpelstiltskin's house, there was a wizard's hat, perhaps soon we will see Merlin?  And there was at least one gold crown in his trophy case.  In Mr. Gold's house, there was a wooden horse, and I wonder who it belonged to, which story is connected to it?  There was also a golden chalise, which seemed very obvious, as he removed it to place Belle's chipped cup in its place.

  1. I would like to know what happened to King George. He wasn't in the pilot and he has never appeared in Storybrooke so there must be some event that occurs between him chasing Charming and the kiss that wakes up Snow.

  2. I think you are right. I don't recall seeing him at their wedding, and I also haven't noticed any references to him. I guess we'll find out eventually.

I welcome your comments. What do you think will happen next in the worlds of Storybrooke and Fairy Tale?
